Background: I am an architectural designer based in London, and a recent masters graduate of the London School of Architecture. During my time at the LSA my work explored my interest in urban landscapes and the ecology of growing in the city, and since leaving the LSA I have continued to explore this interest by joining the Architects Climate Action Network, specifically engaging with the sub-group Where The Wild Things Aren't. In this group we are interested in the challenges facing "wild things"(biodiversity and habitat loss), and in supporting the vital shift towards an architectural practice of ecological regeneration. I have spoken on a panel as part of the Open House London Festival 2020 about the value of urban spaces in our cities, and have contributed to campaigns and responses we have worked on as a group (e.g. Response to DEFRA Tree Strategy, Dasgupta Review, Response to Planning Reform White Paper etc.)
I am also co-chair of the Architecture Foundation Young Trustees, and have facilitated and organised a series of different initiatives with my fellow trustees around climate justice, including the 2020 Climate Megacrit for Architecture students working on projects engaging with climate issues, and our Business as Usual (BaU) series as part of the pioneering Architecture Foundation 100 Day Studio. BaU held space for vital conversations around climate, power, community, and diversity in architecture.
Why You Would Like to Join The Scheme / What You Hope To Get Out Of The Scheme: I would love to be a part of the Climate Justice Peer Network. Climate justice is one of the biggest challenges of our time, and it is something that we can only tackle effectively if we work together in coalition. It would be an incredible opportunity to meet people interested in climate justice across different industries. I am currently tapped in to architectural groups with this interest but I would relish the opportunity to meet people outside my field and to learn from and engage with them. I really feel that there is so much knowledge out there. We have so much we can share with each other and peer programmes like this are a great way to do so.
Looking For: A Peer Network
